During a commanding showing, England wrapped up one more victory versus Albania, with a number of players producing notable displays on the pitch.

Starting Eleven

Dean Henderson Had little to do to perform in the first half before called into action by Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. A sliding tackle against Qazim Laci highlighted his game intelligence. Six out of ten

Jarell Quansah Tested by Albania’s primary attacker through their forward. Started through the middle early on but moved to the flank after a teammate was introduced. 7/10

John Stones Advanced into midfield on the ball, as he has done previously. Sometimes was too casual when carrying play and the approach discontinued by the interval. 6/10

The tall defender Always dangerous at set pieces, per usual, could serve as a replacement for Stones in defense instead of paired with him. One wayward distribution after the break nearly resulted in an opener from Albania. 6/10

The young full-back Another composed display by the 20-year-old following his debut versus another side. A teammate failed to make the opportunity from an exquisite backheel behind the Albania defence. His position looks secure already. 7/10

Adam Wharton A debut start with the national team. A bit sloppy in possession however his dangerous deliveries caused problems. A useful game manager available to the manager to utilize versus sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash tackle. Six

The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Had room to move on the left but was offside when the ball arrived in front of goal. Given a well-earned rest on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Functioned in an advanced spot on the right and also put in defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance but dragged a shot over. Withdrawn towards the end by Rogers, a fellow player, following a yellow card. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s best chance of the first half, his shot smartly stopped from the opposing goalkeeper. As Quansah hanging back, he had to stretch the play down the right side but his crosses into the box were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker scoring two more strikes for his country. The first a classic opportunist's goal while the second a superb finish with his head following a clever run from his marker. Now 32, he continues to improve and the side have every chance next summer with him up top. Eight

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by Bellingham yet the keeper kept it out. His replacement had a greater an impact when substituted. 5
